Formula One teams are planning to organise a joint launch of the 2010 season in Spain at the end of January, Nick Fry, CEO of Brawn GP, revealed on Thursday.
"I don't want to go into too much detail about what the plans actually are, but we have agreed between all the teams to do a joint launch and we do wish to turn it into a proper event," said Fry, whose team was taken over by Mercedes-Benz this autumn.
"I wouldn't wish to spill the beans on what we are going to do, but it is going to be hugely innovative. It is going to be a clear demonstration of how we are going to be working together. We are not all going off and doing our own individual launches, so we can do something that is a lot more customer friendly."
Fry also spoke about the first weeks since the takeover of driver and constructors' world champions Brawn GP by Mercedes-Benz.
"We're in daily contact with (Mercedes president) Norbert Haug and the Mercedes management. They're taking all that very seriously. As well as selling cars they want to reach a younger clientele," he said.
Fry added that the joint launch in Spain, rather than in several venues across Europe, was a good way of showing "we're all in the same boat" after the sport lost three constructors - Honda, Toyota and BMW - in a year.
